A Menotomy Gardener

Hi, this is Alan, an old gardener who lives in the Village of Menotomy, aka Arlington, Massachusetts.

Most of what I know about gardening, I learned from our dear departed friend, Patricia Watson, who was the "mother" of the Co-op Garden, a spin-off from the Arlington Food Co-op.

Patricia taught us how to listen to the plants, let them tell us what they need.

This is what they would give us back

Since Patricia's home was sold last year, our gardening has been limited to our shady backyard, where we can grow ferns and not a lot else.

Well, OK, that's not entirely true...

So that's my introduction. Come back often to meet some of the other Menotomy Gardeners.

Thank you for the lovely picture of Patricia and the Co-op garden -- it brought back a lot of wonderful memories.

Alan, is that white trillium I see there in the pic? If so, could you describe a bit of how you came by it and how it's doing? I read somewhere that they do increase, but it takes a lonnng time. Is that your experience?
